Polish Addict Nail Color - Brain freeze

WOHO! I love neon glitters, they make me so happy.

This cutie is Brain freeze from Polish Addict Nail Color. Brain freeze is my first encounter with Polish Addict and I'm rather pleased. When I was going to do my nails I noticed that the larger glitters had sunken to the bottom of the bottle. Therefore I decided to let the bottle stand upside-down for a few minutes. That was really effective!
I applied three thin coats to achieve full opacity. The base was rather sheer so less than three coats will leave you with some VNL. I had no trouble getting all the different types of glitters from the bottle. That was probably thanks to the upside-down trick.

These glitters where thicker than the neon ones in Clowning around. Therefore I ended up with two coats of SV for a completely smooth finish. If you want your own bottle of Brain freeze it's available at Edgy polish
Until next time, take care!

Smitten Polish - Imperio

I'm a terrible NP-addict. My boyfriend gave me this polish last christmas. That's like five moths ago! This polish is waaay to pretty not to use.
Imperio is a purple jelly with prismatic micro glitters. I have three thin coats in the pictures and two coats of SV. It was still a bit uneven after two coats of SV. The formula was absolutely lovely. The first layer was rather sheer but since Imperio is a jelly that wasn't too surprising.
Until next time, take care!

RdeL Young - Creamy blueberry with splatter nail art

I've got such a fun polish to show you guys today. It's called Creamy blueberry from a until now unknown brand for me, called RdeL Young. It was kind of tricky to figure out the actual name :P

Anyway. The polish is so pretty, a blue crelly with hex glitters and a few bar glitters as well. I know that most nail polish addicts don't like bar glitters but I think the look kind of cute in this polish. So I really like this polish. The formula on the other hand was absolutely terrible. It was thick, stringy and gooey.
I ended up with three rather thick coats. The glitters spread enevly which is a plus I suppose :P I also added some super cute stickers that where sent to me for review from Born pretty store. The stickers where super easy to apply. I really love easy and fast ways to make manicures more unique. These stickers are so easy that my dogs could manage to apply them and they don't have opposable thumbs!

Don't forget to use my code if you shop at Born pretty store. Write CYX31 and you will get a 10% discount on your entire order. You can use it as many times as you want :D

Nail art Sunday - Stripes

Yay! Nail art Sunday, I'm so excite.

Todays theme is Stripes, I thought it was pretty straight (pun intended) forward what to do :P I used these vinyls. I think the work much better than striping tape. I also added some metal studs from Born Pretty Store
I use three different polishes, all of them from Too Fancy Lacquer. The colours I used are the following: Lake como, Spring in my steps and Lilac rain. I bought all of them at Edgy Polish. Edgy polish is celebrating it's one year birthday and you get a 25% discount on your order until 12 o'clock tonight. You should totally check it out :D
So how did I do it? I started with this polish as my base. I applied the stripes on my nails and painted each nail with all three colours after that I applied the studs. I finished the mani off with one coat of HK Girl TC. This was really easy to do, but if you want me to I can do a tutorial :)

If you want to enjoy more stripes check out Le Lack's blog :)
Until next time, take care!

Essie - Marshmallow

Ugh!

There are polishes that are tricky to apply and there are "I-will-never-use-this-again" polishes. Marshmallow has qualified into the second group. The white crelly finish is so fancy, but the formula...

OH
MY
LORD
!

It was just awful. After three coats it looked okay, a little bit more streaky than in the pictures though.  When the brush touched a part of the nail that I had already painted it left bald patches.
This is my base for tomorrow's nail art sunday but I just had to post this and warn you. NEVER BUY THIS WORTHLESS POLISH! I love the finish but it's so not worth the time it took to apply it.

Sorry about the rant, but this was a terrible nail polish experience.
Until next time, take care!

Lilypad Lacquer - Orange-a-peel

I have the best BFF in the entire universe!

Emelie and I give each other monthly polishes. This month I got Orange-a-peel from Lilypad Lacquer. I love orange polishes and this one is so awesome. It's a neon orange scattered holo. I couldn't capture the holo-part very well because it's kind of cloudy in Lund today. If you want a better chance of rainbows you should check out Skimmerskuggan's holographic friday.
Orange-a-peel was almost a one-coater. The formula was great, it applied like butter. I ended up with two thin coats but one thicker coat would definitely cover just as well. It dries matte like neons do so top coat is recommended. I used HK Girl TC and it didn't affect the holographic properties.
That's all for now, I hope that you all will have a great weekend!
Until next time, take care!

Emily de Molly - Sakura

Oh my gosh! I've been wearing so many blue and green polishes lately that I literally forced myself to choose something different today. I'm really glad that I did. This cutie is Sakura from Emily de Molly.
Sakura is a white crelly with magenta circle glitters and grey prismatic hex glitters. If you didn't know this already I'm going to tell you a secret... I'm a sucker for white based glitter polishes :P Sakura was super easy to apply. I ended up with three coats of Sakura and one coat of Seche vite. It dried really fast, but to be honest I think that was thanks to SV :P
I bought Sakura from EdM's big cartel when they shipped internationally for a restock. I think that it's available at Llarowe but I'm not 100% sure.
Until next time, take care!

Enchanted Polish - April 2014

Look at this gorgeous polish. I think this colour is called periwinkle, but I'm not completely sure though. I don't know if there is a precise name for this colours in swedish? I think I would describe it as a "dusty lavender blue pastel"? Anyway, April 2014 is pretty creamy and almost covered with one coat. The holographic properties are pretty discrete, which I love. These pictures are taken in direct sunlight so this is pretty much as holographic as it gets.
The formula was great, I don't think that I've ever used a EP that haven't had a butter smooth formula. I have two thin coats in the pictures, I also added one coat of SV. The SV didn't affect the holographic properties. I bought this polish at Enchanted Polish's big cartel. Subscribe to their e-mail to get updates on upcoming restocks :)
I also added a few silver studs from Born pretty store, I think the combination looks super cute. Don't forget to use my code CYX31 when shopping at BPS. It will give you a 10% discount!

Until next time, take care!
