H&M - Nerd

 Ugh!

I've had some serious problems with my computer tonight. I downloaded the OS X Yosemite beta and Preview and I have been in a fight ever since :P I have reported the problems to the software developers. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they will fix it soon.

Time for my #notd. I decided to wear an oldie today. I've had this polish for quite some time but haven't worn it for some stupid reason. This is Nerd form H&M, a creamy nude that works surprisingly well with my skin tone. I have three coats in the pictures, at first I thought that two would do but three coats is definitely a must. I love the combination nudes and neons so I decided to add neon studs close to the cuticles.

I really like this colour. It has a yellow undertone so if your skin tone also has yellow undertones I would recommend this colour. I'm going to continue my fight with Preview now so I'll "talk" more with you guys tomorrow. Have a great evening!

Milani - Twinkle + water marble

Hi cuticle cuties!

I've been doing something super fun today, water marble. I haven't done any water marble manicures in over a year. Last winter I was recommended to use distilled water when water marbling, so I bought a bottle. I didn't think it was going to work but I tried it today and it really did. The nail polish spread evenly and it was easy to "draw" designs. I'm feeling so excited because I've had some serious problems when water marbling in the past.

For the water marble design I used Something Blue from H&M and Fun in the Sun from L.A. Colors. I did however start with a white base. Unfortunately my tc did smudge the design a bit, which was kind of sad. I decided to add one coat of matte tc over the water marble nails which was a cool contrast to the shiny glitter. Speaking (writing?) of glitter, the glitterbomb is called Twinkle and is from Milani. It is the worst glitterpolish I have when it comes to drying uneven. I ended up with four coats of tc and one coat of glitter food and even after a total of five coats of tc the finish was still uneven.

Overall I'm really pleased with this manicure and I'm already planing my next water marble :) Take care and I'll "talk" to you tomorrow.

Darling Diva Polish - Sting ray nail art

Hi cuties!

I hope you're having a great day so far. When I posted This is my Tiara a few days ago I was asked how similar it is to Sting Ray. So here is a little nail art design to show you what Sing Ray looks like.
So how did I do this? I started with a white base. Then I used a nail art brush and painted thin lines with Blue my Mind from H&M and Wait n' Sea from China Glaze. I let the colours overlap and made sure that almost the entire nail was covered with lines. While the polish was still semi-wet I dipped a q-tip in nail polish remover and dabbed it on the nail. By doing so the colours will blend and it will aslo give some areas a semi-transparent look. If you want to you could just leave it at this and add tc to seal the design. But as you know, I wanted to add one thin coat of Sting Ray before adding tc.

Sting Ray and This is my Tiara are two completely different polishes. Sting Ray is not meant to be worn alone like the other polishes from the Muscle Car collection. The glitters are in various shapes and sizes while This is my Tiara only contains one typ of micro glitter.

That's all for now. I hope you enjoyed this post. Take care and I'll "talk" to you tomorrow :)

Girly Bits - Cosmic ocean layered over H&M - Jungle me

I love this combination! Green and blue are two of my favourite colours and I think that these two shades work great together.

Jungle me is a grass green creme with micro flecks. I covered completely in two coats. Cosmic ocean is meant to be layered over another polish and I don't think it's possible to get it opaque on it's own. It's has a blue tinted base with duo chrome flecks that shift from green to blue. I have three coats of Cosmic ocean in the pictures. I finished the mani off with one coat of SV.

I'm a big fan of layering polish and Cosmic ocean is gorgeous! Do you guys like layering polish?
Until next time, take care!

Nail art sunday - Prettypots Polish swatch

Hi lovelies!

I've got  pretty simple nail art to show you for todays nail art Sunday. Made with polish from some pretty cheap brands I tried a different type of swatch today. I really like swatches that aren't just "plain polish swatches" so I decided to try it out myself. On my middle and ring finger I'm wearing Prettypots Polish - Candy peach. A peachy pink shimmer creme with pink, purple and blue glitters. I choose a couple of polishes that matched the glitters and the base colour of Candy peach and tried a few different techniques.

The colours that I used are Mavala - Samarkand, H&M -Nail him, H&M - Check me out and Nordic Cap - NP14.

On my index finger I simply applied layers of the different colours, starting with the lightest one and ending with the darkest. Then I finished it of with three big pink dots.

On my pinkie I started with a purple base and painted horizontal sloppy lines with the help of a nail art brush.

On my thumb, that you can see in one of the pictures I used a dotting tool and added a few studs in some of the dots.

None of these techniques are particularly tricky, but the end result looks kind of impressive :)

Until next time, take care!

Pahlish - Train underwater

Hi lovelies!

I hope that you're having a great day :) I have the flu and have been sneezing all day long. It's a miracle that I managed to paint my nails today!

This polish is your choice of the day. Train underwater from Pahlish. TU is a dark blue jelly with green, blue and purple glitters in various sizes. I decided to layer it on Something blue from H&M. I have one coat of Something blue and two coats of TU. The formula was great. The glitters spread evenly and the drying time was fast. I think TU  is a new favourite of mine. I can't understand why I haven't used this polish earlier.

Now time for pictures, there are quite a few. I couldn't make up my mind lol :P

Don't forget to vote on todays poll! <3

Until next time, take care!
