Emily de Molly - Maddy's Magenta

Hey darlings!

How are you doing today? I've been feeling a bit weird, so I've been relaxing in front of the TV watching The Vampire Diares. Do you have any favourite TV-series? Netflixing and sleeping are my two favourite hobbies besides nail polish :D

Today I decided to wear Maddy's Magenta from Emily de Molly. I think that I might be the last person in the entire nail polish community to wear this polish. Maddy's Magenta is a stunning magenta/cherry coloured holo. The holographic properties are really intense even in the shade. The polish is very pigmented and two thin coats was enough for it to cover perfectly. It dried pretty fast and shiny but I added tc to prevent tip wear.

Peggy Sage - Jasmine & Emily de Molly - Bellissima

Hey lovelies!

I hope you've had a great day so far. I'm gonna write a super short blog post, I'm really tired. Can't wait until Sunday when I've finished my final day at work. I'm really looking forward to go back to school. 

Anyway, I decided to go for a simple gradient/layering today. I'm wearing Jasmine from Peggy Sage and Bellissima from Emily de Molly. 

Applying Jasmine wasn't a very pleasant experience. It didn't self-level at all, it also left a few bald patches when I applied the second coat. The colour is wonderful but I'm not sure I will use it again. It was pretty problematic and I needed four coats for it to cover evenly. Bellissima was great for doing gradients, I'm really pleased with how they turned out. It was rather thick so I might add a drop of thinner to it. 

I applied two coats of fast drying top coat but the manicure didn't dry very fast. I think it's Jasmines fault but I'm not completely certain. I love the final result but Jasmine will be spending some time in my helmer, and I don't think I will use it in a while.

Emily de Molly - Oceanic forces

Hi lovelies! 

Time for a modern classic, Oceanic forces from Emily de Molly. This was a birthday gift from my BFF Emelie :) She gave me all three shades from the forces collection and this is the second one I try. 

Oceanic forces is a super squishy dark teal jelly that is surprisingly pigmented. The formula is great, it covered with three coats. The big circle glitters did however require some fishing. Since the polish is packed with glitters I added top coat to even it out. I have two coats of HK girl TC in the pictures but I might end up adding a third coat. Pop Culture Cosmetics - Prince charming and Emily de Molly - LE2

Howdy glitter inferno, how do you do? 

Today I have a layering to show you guys. If you've been following me for a while you know that I love glitter. The more, the better. One can not have too much glitter! 

The grey base is Prince charming from Pop culture cosmetics and the crazy intense glitter topper is LE2 from Emily de Molly. I will however rename LE2 because that name is kind of lame. From now on I will call it, The crazy intense glitter topper. 

I have two coats of Prince charming and one coat of The crazy intense glitter topper. I really like these two polishes together. The calm grey base works really well with the purple glitters IMO. I also have one coat of Seche vite but I might add a second coat because it feels kind of gritty.

Nail art Sunday - Motivation

Stamping plate and rhinestones sent for my honest review. 

This weeks Nail art Sunday theme is motivation. That is such a tricky theme. I think that every nail nerd suffers from loss of motivation every now and then. I love nail polish but when I'm stressed, I totally forget that doing fun nail art designs calm me down. So when I'm stressed I usually just paint my nails.   

Today however I definitely have a nail art for you :) Let's start with the products I have used. 

Pinky Promise from Lilypad Lacquer, Nimbus from Smitten Polish, Sakura and Maddy's Magenta from Emily de Molly. I have also used stamping plate QA85 and rhinestones from Born pretty store. 

For the stamping I used Nimbus from Smitten Polish as base colour. The stamping was so much fun and I've never done a two-coloured stamping design before. I started with the lighter pink, Pinky promise, and stamped a couple of flowers. After that I stamped with Maddy's magenta which made it look like a stamping pond. I did the same thing on my thumbs.

On my middle and ring finger I applied three thin coats of Sakura and a couple of rhinestones. 

I'm really pleased with this mani and I'm really starting to get the hang of stamping. It's super addictive!

Emily de Molly - Turbulence

Schmack! 

Time for a perfect glitter jelly. Turbulence from Emily de Molly is a dark blue jelly with loads of different shaped glitters. 

The polish was surprisingly easy to apply considering all the glitters in it. I tried something different when applying it. I usually apply rather thick coats when using glitter jellies. Instead of doing so I applied three super duper thin coats and I must say, it was so easy to apply.  

Overall I really like this polish. I would love a Forces polish with this base colour. I absolutely love dark jellies with glitter :) The drying time was also good since I applied such thin coats.

Colors by Llarowe - Aliens and outlaws

Aliens and outlaws sent for my honest review. 

Grey polish two days in a row!? What's wrong with me you might ask. Well, today is the first 'United in grey'-day. This theme is held by Helena over at Lacky corner. I hope that many of you want to participate! 

The grey ribbon stands for, among a few other things, brain cancer awareness. I have no personal experience with brain cancer specifically, but I have with the big C. No matter what type of cancer, it's a terrible disease that will turn your whole world upside-down. I think it's super important to talk about cancer. There are still people how act as if it's contagious which is terrible. Cancer dosen't have to mean death. The research has taken us far, even though we still have a long way to go. 

The polishes I have decided to wear today are Emily de Molly - LE3 and Colors by Llarowe - Aliens and outlaws. 

LE3 was a limited edition shade that was released a while back. It's a light grey, close to white holo. It covered perfectly with three thin coats. This was the first time I used it and I'm definitely going to wear it again by itself. I decided apply Aliens and outlaws kind of gradiently (it's a word) except on my ring finger where I have three thins coats over LE3. 

I love both polishes and I'm really pleased with this mani :D The application was great with both colours. Make sure not to get A&O around your cuticle area because it it kind of tricky to clean up. Which almost all glitters are. I also added one coat of Seche vite and it was enough for a completely smooth finish.

Emily de Molly - Sakura

Oh my gosh! I've been wearing so many blue and green polishes lately that I literally forced myself to choose something different today. I'm really glad that I did. This cutie is Sakura from Emily de Molly.

Sakura is a white crelly with magenta circle glitters and grey prismatic hex glitters. If you didn't know this already I'm going to tell you a secret... I'm a sucker for white based glitter polishes :P Sakura was super easy to apply. I ended up with three coats of Sakura and one coat of Seche vite. It dried really fast, but to be honest I think that was thanks to SV :P 

I bought Sakura from EdM's big cartel when they shipped internationally for a restock. I think that it's available at Llarowe but I'm not 100% sure.

Emily de Molly - Folklore

I love all of you wonderful readers. But today I've done something for you that will never happen again. I have retaken swatch pictures three times. Edited the pictures, reedited them and so on. This polish is a pain in the *** to photograph. The polish looks bright blue in the pictures, and that would have been fine if this polish actually was blue. It's not, Folklore is a gorgeous turquoise/teal/emerald-saphire dream. 

The base  is a rather pigmented teal jelly. I really like that since it gives a nice and smooth line near the cuticle area. The teal base also makes undies unnecessary. The polish has tons of prismatic teal micro glitters that spread perfectly. It dries pretty fast but super gritty. I have three coats of TC but the  nails still feel uneven. 

 I love this polish, it's absolutely stunning and it's so much more beautiful IRL.

Emily de Molly - Monet's garden

First of all, please let me rage a bit.

I googled swatches of this polish and they ALL looked blue. Not green, BLUE. And to be honest so did my pictures, but the colour on my nails was a green turquoise and not blue at all. I know that swatches can differ in colour. But this is just ridiculous.

This is what the picture looks like without any editing: 

A gorgeous colour indeed, but it's not what Monet's garden look like. I had the same problem when I was swatching this polish. It looked super blue when it's actually not.

After I've edited a picture this is what it looked like:

A green base with glitters that might differ a tiny bit from their true colours. I am aware of the fact that the monitors affect the colours. But, it's a difference between monitors showing a slightly different colour and posting pictures that are completely off!

Some of you might think that I'm making a hen out of a feather, as we say in Sweden. In other words that I'm making a really big thing of nothing at all. But honestly, haven't we all gotten really disappointed when the amazing polish we ordered looked nothing like the swatches? I sure know I have. With that said, if you think that my swatches aren't accurate I would want to know it. If you think that photos I have taken are completely off PLEASE let me know.

I don't mean to sound like some kind of colour accuracy guru but to me it's more important that the colours of the polish I post look correct. I really don't care if the colour of my skin tone looks a bit weird. You don't come here to see colour accurate skin tone pictures, you come here to see accurate polish swatches! Sorry about the rage but I had to get this out of my system.

Now time for the actual review of this polish. Monet's garden was rather easy to apply considering the extreme amount of glitter. I have three coats in the pictures and that was required for full coverage. You could definitely layer it, but I love the depth you get when using it on it's own. I applied one coat of SV and it dried pretty fast. After a while it was a bit gritty so I applied another coat of SV and got it completely smooth.
