Enchanted Polish - September 2013

Hi lovelies!

I'm taking another break from the DW collection :) Today I have a very special polish for you. It's a polish that I have been wanting for a while. The September polish from EP. It's a creamy pink with a drop of purple in it. The holo is pretty subtle and best of all, it's a one-coater! The formula of this polish is perfect. The brush is thin which I love and it dries so fast <3 I'm having a bit of a September crush lol!

I got the idea for this mani from one of the ladies is one of the Enchanted Polish Facebook groups. I don't think that she has a blog but here's a link to her instagram. I loved the combination of texture polish, glitter and holo :)

The glitter I have used is Fairyland from Pop Culture Cosmetics and the silver polish is Crystal glass from Kicks. If you want to see more pretty holos don't forget to check out Skimmerskuggan's blog!

That's all for now, I hope you all will have a great end of the week :)

Until next time, take care!

Pahlish - So not married

Hey guys!

A rather common and very funny misunderstanding in Doctor Who is that the tenth doctor and his companion Donna Noble are a couple. They aren't and it's made very clear in this video.

Since this misunderstanding is as common in Doctor Who as regenerations are I think it was a great idea to name a polish after it. So not married reminds me of Donna and the Doctor. Donnas coppery hair and the doctors brown coat. Golden flecks that shimmer as bright as they both did in the episode "Journey's end". Duo chrome from dark burgundy red to varm rich green. Changing in colour just as Donnas personality changed during the episodes.

Wow, this post became waaaay to poetic. I am so sorry. Not really sure what happened. Number ten and Donna are a great couple, even though the aren't. I think that I might have a Doctor/Donna-crush.

So not married has a great formula. Two coats was enough, but then the polish smudged a bit one of my nails so I painted a third coat. So three coats in the pictures with one coat of SV. It dried fast, no problems there. This is not a colour I would by for myself if it wasn't for the fact that it's a DW polish. But I'm glad that I did, I really enjoy the colour and I'm definitely wearing it again.

Until next time, take care!

Pahlish - The ghost shift

Okay, the Doctor Who break is officially over!

I almost feel like I'm on a mission. A misson to convert you all into Whovians, lol. Kind of like the cybermen's mission. You know about the cybermen right? If not, this is what they look like.
Source
Well that's almost what they look like. They don't dance very often in the series though. They prefer to focus on turning humans into cybermen. I suppose they might start dancing when all humans have been turned. But since the Doctor always saves the day we will never find out if they can moonwalk :(

The ghost shift is inspired by the cybermen's armour. As you can see in the GIFs the armour is a full metal "suit". So what would be more appropriate than a dark grey metallic polish? That's right a dark grey metallic HOLO! This is my favorit so far. I'm a bit of a holo enthusiast and TGS really delivers. Lovely formula, great drying time and wonderful rainbowZ. I wasn't planing on swatching TGS today but the sun appeared. You guys should have seen me. I must have looked like a mad man with a box :D I threw myself over the acetone and swatched this polish like no polish has ever been swatched before. But it was totally worth it because I got actual sunlight pictures of this gorgeous holo.

I'm gonna stop now and let the pictures do the rest of the talking :)
This picture was not taken in direct sunlight.

Valentine's day contest

Hey cuticle cuties!

So I have realised that not all of you love Doctor Who as much as I do. Teherfore I decided to post a non DW post :) I was on IG a couple of hours ago and saw that Polish alcoholic is having a valentine's day contest together with Luchessa. I though it would be fun to participate, and so should you guys :)

I've used the following polishes:
Pop Culture Cosmetics: Pink drink, Red carpet and Magical valentine , CbL - Leather & Lace, Mavala - London, Orly - Beach cruiser and Nordic cap - NP13 (basic white).

From index to pinkie, this is how I did the manicure.

My index finger is a two coloured ombre. Closest to the cuticle I have Red carpet and at the free edge I have Pink drink. I blended the two colours by slightly overlapping them. With the help of an orange stick I placed out red and pink sequins in a relatively straight line.

On my middle finger I started of with a white base, then I placed red caviar beads as a heart shape and added pink caviar beads in it. I didn't feel completely satisfied so I applied my CbL holo TC around the heart.

I love glitter gradients so that was pretty much a must-have for this mani. As base I used a hot pink and when it was dry I dabbed on the valentine glitter.

I thought I needed more hearts so I decided to give my pinkie some love. Starting of with a white base I used a dotting tool to create a big red heart. Around it I added dots in different pinks and reds. Finally I placed a pearly white heart glitter in the middle of the red heart.

That's all for now :) I hope you enjoy the pictures.

This picture is taken with flash so you can se the holo TC in action :)

Until next time, take care!

Pahlish - Forest of the dead

What a wonderful polish Forest of the dead is. Inspired by one of my favourite episodes with number ten. But then again how could Donna Noble, River Song and wonderful number ten all in one episode ever go wrong? I decided to watch it while doing my nails, that was a great decision. Donna is badass!

This polish is almost as amazing as the episode. If you're a Whovian then you will know that a statement like that means that this polish is pretty darn amazing :) FOTD is dark green polish with micro glitter/flecks/shimmer in gold, green and brown. I have nothing to complain about formula wise. It's just as great as the other two I've tried from the collection. I applied three thin coats, but if you have shorter nails I think two will be enough. Two coats of SV to finish it of and it resulted in pure magic on my nails.

Time for pictures, enjoy!

Don't forget to check out Karins blog for more green manicures :)

Until next time, take care!

Pahlish - Bad wolf

I just couldn't wait until tomorrow morning to share this post with you. It's time for the second polish from Pahlish Doctor Who collection. If you didn't guess it already this polish got the brilliant name Bad wolf. Bad wolf in the series is kind of complex to explain. I know it sounds corny but you have to watch the show to get it. I'm not going to spoil... Well I'm going to try not to spoil in these posts. Therefore I will give you some homework. WATCH DOCTOR WHO! Stop reading this post, the Doctor awaits you!

Back already? That was fast. Did you enjoy the episode? Good! Back to Bad Wolf :) BW is a dark nude creme with duo chrome shimmer from gold to pink. The formula was fantastic, three thin coats in the pictures. It was glossy on it's own but I applied one coat of SV... Why? Because I could, lol :P

The only downside I have to say about this polish isn't about the polish at all. It's about my skin. This colour gives my skin look a zygon red tone (Doctor Who referens). But I really don't care about what colours work with my skin tone. Especially not when a polish called Bad wolf makes me look like a zygon, I mean come on. That's pretty awesome!

Thats enough for now. Enjoy the pictures :) Bonus points if you now what watch it is :D

Until next time, take care!
