Essie - Hors D'Oeuvres

BOOM!

New years eve attacked my nails xD This polish is amazing. Gold base with silver glitter, how could it possibly go wrong? On the pictures I have three coats of Hors D'Oeuvres and two coats of SV. Drying time is average, perhaps a little longer. The only complain I have is that the gold shimmer spreads like the plague, lol. But that can also have to do with the fact that I painted my nails waaaay past my bedtime.

Time to sleep, I'm going to work tomorrow before I'll celebrate with my boyfriend, my BFF and my parents two poodles :D Hope that you all will have a great new years eve. Make sure to be safe with all the fireworks!

Until next time, take care and happy new year!

Nail art sunday - Leopard print

Hey guys!

My BF and I are having a slacker day. He's playing GTA5 and I'm doing some serious backseat gaming, lol. He's wearing his forth Doctor robe and I'm wearing my Stormtrooper robe hehe, nerd alert :D

Oh well enough about unimportant stuff like that, time for todays manicure. I have done a funky french with a accent nail. As a base I used two coats of Mavala - Arosa, a peachy crelly. For the spots I used Mavala - Samarkand (the darker purple) and Sephora - Let's dance (the lighter purple). Doing leopard prints was so much easier than I thought. With the help of a dotting tool it's almost failproof. Since there are so many great tutorials on the Interwebs I'm not even going to try to explain it for you. Of to the google machine and I promise you will find awesome help :)

Ciaté - Mini mani month review

Herrrooww :)

Time for my review of the Ciaté mini mani month advent calendar. I bought mine online, from asos.com and used a 10% discount code. I paid about 440 sek ≈ 63 USD.

From left to right:
Amazing gracie - A soft pinkish white crelly.
Members only - A peachy sheer frosty shimmer.
Ivory queen - A peachy cream with gold shimmer.
Serendipity (Full size bottle) - Pink micro glitter in a clear base.
Party shoes - Gold and green-to-blue micro glitter in a clear base.
Snow globe - Green-to-gold flakes in a clear base.
Confetti - Silver glitter with prismatic properties.
Locket - Silver shimmer base with silver glitters in different sizes.
Fit for a queen - Silver metallic polish.

From left to right:
Pepperminty - Dusty mint green cream.
Ferris wheel - Light blue cream.
Pillow fight - Greyish purple cream.
Sugar plum - Lavender cream.
Kiss chase - Soft pink cream.
Play date - Coral cream.
Boudoir - Darkish red crelly.
Encore! - Rusty orange cream.
Hopscotch - Bright orange cream.

Caviar pearls - Christmas tree caviar
Red, gold and green pearls.

Caviar pearls - Frost yourself
Purple, silver and translucent pearls.

Glitter - Jingle belle
Coral-to-green glitter

Sequin - Miss mistletoe
Gold, pink and red sequins.

Fast drying top coat.

Base coat.

So what do I think? Well, this is a super fun polish collection, if you don't already have over 300 polishes :P I love the fact that you get a base coat and a fast drying top coat. Big plus Ciaté!

I was a bit disappointed though, naming things "christmasy" doesn't make the polish a christmas polish. Same thing for glitters, pearls and sequins. I would have loved to get a metallic dark christmas tree green polish or perhaps a gold version of Fit for a queen.

Members only and Ivory queen are really similar, I have so many dupes and similar polishes so that's fine during other circumstances. But when you only get 18 different colours it feels kind of lame to get two colours that are so alike. I feel the same way with Encore! and Hopscotch, booth colours are great but again kind of lame, one orange polish would have been more than enough.

Snow globe was really weird, it had kind of a jell-O consistency. I think that a make-up sponge is a must when applying it. Besides Snow globe the application was flawless, nothing to complain about there.

What will the final verdict be? As a polish and christmas enthusiast this is a really fun thing to get for christmas. Even though some of the polishes where similar I think I will buy one next year as well. The price is approximately 4,25 sek/ml so it's not that expensive.

What do you guys think, did you get one? If so, what did you think about it? If not, how come?

Until next time, take care!

Glitter Gal - Dark purple

Hi!

Hope that you all are doing great, I'm having one of those sit-in the-sofa-and-relax-all-day-long days.

Today I have such a pretty purple holo for you. Sadly the sun didn't feel like showing itself today so you will get flash pictures. The polish is Dark purple from Glitter Gal. It's pretty sheer, I have three coats but it think four would have been even better. I got this polish in a "scratch and dent" bag from Ninja polish during black friday and it's my first encounter with GG. The polish is a really nice warm purple colour that I love. I might need to get the bigger bottle of this baby. The one I have only contains 9ml... well it did from the beginning at least :P One coat of SV did not affect the holographic properties and drying time was great.

What do you guys think, do you like this colour? Have you experienced other GG holos being sheer? Let me know :)

Colors by Llarowe - Rubies and rednecks

Hey guys!

I hope y'all are having a great christmas and enjoying it with family and friends. I'm still at my parents so no lightbox pictures today ^_^

I did place a big order from CbL about two months ago and thats why I have so many CbL polishes to show you. Today the turn has come to Rubies and rednecks. Unfortunately I experienced the same problems with this brush as I did with Coal in my stocking. I think it has to do with the glitter, since there has been no problems with CbL holos, creams and jellies I have tried. The awful brush made me stop at two coats. I think it would have looked even better with three.

Rubies and rednecks is a raspberry red jelly with prismatic glitter. It is a true beauty which makes the terrible brush bearable. The drying time was great so the only issue I have is the brush.

On the second picture you can see my favourite christmas decoration of all time, I think it's super funny :)

Until next time, take care!

Colors by Llarowe - Coal in my stocking

Hi fellow christmas lovers! (?)

This beauty is CbL - Coal in my stocking. I love the colour but most of all I love the name. It's not a typical christmas colour but the name really makes it a great christmas polish. It's a dark grey cream with tiny silver glitter.

This is a great color but there where some problems with the application. I got this polish in the newer bottle from CbL. They changed the bottle type because they had problems with breakage when shipping internationally. The villain creating the problems was the brush, it's super wide. OPI and IsaDoras brushes are slim compared to this brush. As you can see my pinkie nails are really slim which made the application rather tricky :/ Besides that CIMS is a one coater with great drying time.

What do you think, do you like it?

Until next time, MERRY CHRISTMAS :D

Nailart sunday - Christmas

Did I hear somebody say christmas nail art :D

Another christmas inferno. A simple nail art with layerings, a few dots and stripes and a christmas tree scented polish. To bad you can't smell it :P I will list the polishes I used, since it's quite a few. But you don't need to use these, just take what you find at home and think CHRISTMAS!

China Glaze - Ruby pumps
China Glaze - There's snow one like you
China Glaze - Starboard
China Glaze - Just be-claws
Pop Culture Cosmetics - Mr. Gold
Pop Culture Cosmetics - O tannembaum (scented)
Pop Culture Cosmetics - Candy cane lane

Don't forget to check out Lelack to get more christmas nail art inspiration!

Pop Culture Cosmetics - Jack frost

Hey guys!

Hope that you're doing great :)

Today i have another christmas polish for you, big surprise. It's Jack frost from Pop culture cosmetics. The polish is a glitter polish with a clear base. It contains blue prismatic glitter in two different sizes, tiny white circle glitter, silver shimmer and white snowflake glitter. I have one coat of China Glaze - Sea spray as underwear and two coats of Jack frost. The snowflakes did require some fishing but besides that the application was smooth.

Until next time, take care!

Pop Culture Cosmetics - Christmas vomit

Hey guys!

I have eight new christmas polishes that I haven't tried out yet. So be aware, there will be a christmas explosion on the blog for a few days now :) I hope you don't mind.

For this manicure I used two different polishes from Pop culture cosmetics, Sleigh Bells and Christmas Eve. Both are clear based with a ridiculous amount of glitter. Sleigh bells contains red, green and silver circle glitters, silver snowman and silver snowflake glitters, green red and silver bell shaped glitters and mixed micro glitter. Christmas eve has smaller circle glitters, golden star glitter, red heart glitters, and silver bell shaped glitters. So when using the two polishes together you get a christmas inferno! I think it looks AWESOME! I used a white base from Gina Tricot Beauty and one coat each of Sleigh bells and Christmas eve.

Until next time, take care!

Essie VS CbL

Hi holiday lovers!

Hope that you're doing great and are excited about christmas. I'm such a christmas junkie, I love it!

Today I have a comparison for you. It's between Colors by Llarowe - Come dance the hora and Essie - On a silver platter. Both of theme are beautiful and I enjoy wearing them. On my index and ring finger I'm wearing two coats of Come dance the hora and on my middle and pinkie finger I'm wearing two coats of On a silver platter. As you can see, On a silver platter has a gold shimmer base while Come dance the hora has a silver prismatic base. Also OASP has allot of purple prismatic glitter in different sizes. CDTH on the other hand has purple glitter in two different sizes, although there are mostly small glitters.

So, do I need both of them? OF COURSE! They are similar and different at the same time. I think that it's fun since it's not a typical holiday polish but even so it's included in both a mainstream and a indie brands holiday collections.

Now all that's left is for you guys to enjoy the pictures :)

Until next time, take care!
